I was trained through DONA International as a doula in 2008 as a volunteer with the Bami Ondaadiziike Birth Doula Project in Northern Wisconsin. I am so grateful for my time with these amazing women, and the spirit of this group has shaped the way I view my work as a doula. I work out of a love for mothers and families. I see myself as a humble servant to each family I work with, with great respect for every family's unique cultural and spiritual background. I see this work as an act of social justice, and I strive to find a balance between serving families in need as a volunteer, and working for families who are able to pay for the services.

In 2009, I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, where I became a DONA certified birth doula in 2011.

I have attended births of many types, from water births at birth centers, natural hospital births, and hospital births in which the mother chose an epidural. My idea of the perfect birth is one in which the mother is fully informed and able to choose the birth that SHE knows is best for HER. I will never tell you what to do, but I will help you get all of the information you need in order to get ready for your best birth!
